Brother Sir Knights,
Congratulation to the 25 Assemblies that have submitted, (and I
expect will earn,) the Supreme Council Civic Award. This is up from
7 Assemblies earning the Award last year. It is a demonstration of
the strong patriotic and Church related programs conducted by the
Assemblies of the SC District. I also thank District Program
Director SK Keith Kingren for publicizing the Award and helping to
encourage Assemblies to apply.
The SC District Faithful Navigator Orientation Workshop will be held
on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the St. John Neumann School on Polo
Road in Columbia. We will meet in conjunction with the SC State
Council Grand Knight’s Orientation Workshop. Faithful Navigators,
Faithful Captains, Faithful Comptrollers, Assembly Commanders should
attend. If the Faithful Navigator cannot make it, he is responsible
for assuring someone from his Assembly attends.
The 75th South Carolina District Exemplification is scheduled for
September 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Charleston. It is time
now to recruit new Fourth Degree members.
Installations of Officers are in progress. We will have completed
all 30 by the end of July, with I have performed the installation
for 28 of the 30 Assemblies. Kathy and I have enjoyed meeting all of
you. We thank you for your hospitality.
The final numbers are in from Supreme Master concerning the Military
Chaplain Campaign. In summary, $1.56 million was raised versus the
original goal of $1.00 million. South Carolina proudly did its
share, thanks to contributions from the State Councils and District
Assemblies. South Carolina raised $27,800 versus our original goal
of $20,000. Great job, South Carolina.
