We all know this Catholic American Story – In 1882, Fr. Michael J. McGivney found that the men of St. Mary Church were not attending Mass, the widows were often left impoverished, and the tides of anti-Catholicism were rampant.  From this need, Fr. McGivney establish the Knights of Columbus.  Today, the Knights of Columbus has over 1,965,000 members, is the largest charitable, catholic, family organization in the world, and is a Fortune 1000 insurance company. This month we commemorate the Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney death on August 14, 1890.
